Silver 014-20

Silver

Silver looks at a spectrum of visual effects innate to water and the compound patterns of waves and light. These effects render an image with no tangible subject, looking instead at a photograph’s capacity to capture behaviours rather than as a purely descriptive inventory of a view.

Behaviour in these images is their subject—how colours are constructed within the inflections and dynamics of water, remaking a continuous colour gradient of early morning or late evenings as something with an immediate presence through their details. Any source of activity in these views is kept beyond the images’ periphery, allowing what forces are at play to act on the ambient light and colour as the photograph’s content.
